A few youngsters (NCC cadets- R.Thirulogachandran and P.Nagarajan) started mountaineering and adventure sports club in chennai neighbourhood in 1998. The club was started to create awareness about the adventure and mountaineering sports among the youngsters of Tamil Nadu. It was started way back in 1998 and later registered under societies Act on 21st May 2007, by the same young mountaineers of Chennai who had training and wanted to bring these adventurous and exciting activities among the youth.
Mr.Thirulogchandran the one of the founder of the organization was a champion mountaineer and fully qualified trainer in TamilNadu started the organization (Well wishers adventure club) with Mr.P.Nagarajan, International Educator and also trained mountaineer, Mr.B.Srikanth (GM – IT Aviation), Mr.M.Ilango,Mr.Prakash, Mountaineer, Ex.Indian Navy Inspector Mr.Satish Khanna, lead Mountaineer and other few friends. Many members joined our team later through membership, proper training, undergoing certification from famous mountaineering institutes. Over the period of time our professional team and organization has grown and our services and programmes were extended to trekkers, mountaineers, schools, colleges, corporate and to general public who had real interest and spirit to dare and feel the inner sense of adventure.
From time to time the organization has conducted trekking programmes, mountaineering training and outdoor games for schools, MNCs and even tied up with other organization (NGOs) to train and conduct events. As we see there is a real need among school students and young adults to be with nature and also learn the missing links with nature through physical-social activities. It’s our journey to identify, encourage and include our vision to bring learning communities to partake the rich be wilderness through the sense of adventure, we proposed many programs to the like minds.
It’s time that we moved from club status to form an association, one of its kind in Tamil nadu not only to conduct mountaineering sports activities but create membership status and educate them with right skills and techniques and be part of the bigger adventure world through our vision and mission.
We have conducted numerous treks and mountaineering programmes in places like Ooty, Kodai, Yelagiri, Yercaud, Chennai - malaipet hills, Thiruneermalai, Chengalpattu, Thirukalikundrum, Padappai etc. we have also conducted parasailing near East coast beach, trichy etc. So far we have not come across any kind safety lapse or major problems. We ensure to insure on all our major mountaineering programmes with best insurance company.
